  • No outbound flight from Vietnam means trouble?

I (german) and my boyfriend (swedish) are travelling to vietnam from seoul. We only have a one-way-flight to saigon and plan on leaving vietnam by boat to cambodia. I already got a 14-days single-entry visa for vietnam, my boyfriend does not need one, but is thinking about getting one, too. We are worried that the airline will simply deny us access in seoul, because we have no outbound flight from vietnam. My question is, do we actually need an outbound flight from vietnam (i.e. to cambodia) in order to be let into the country or will our visas be enough? Furthermore, does my boyfriend actually need a visa if he does not have an outbound-flight from vietnam? thank you, josi

    Dear josiii,

Be kindly informed that your boyfriend and you do not need to show flight ticket to get on board from Seoul as we do not require for that. Also, Swedish is exempt from Vietnam for a less than 15 day stay in Vietnam according to Vietnam immigration regulation, thus, your boyfrien just need to travel with Swedish passport.

Have a great time in Vietnam.

    Kindly regards,

    Bella Bui
