In case you just stay in the transit area waiting for your next flight out of Vietnam, you are not required to have a Vietnam visa.

  • Vietnam visa expiration

Does the Vietnam visa start when I enter Vietnam or does it start from when I apply?

In Visa on arrival, Asked by Sandra, 10,009 hours ago Comment View all 1 comment

    Dear Sandra,

With Vietnam visa on arrival, after applying for Vietnam visa online, you will receive an approval letter via email. But be kindly informed that the approval letter is just an official permisstion so that you can get on flight and get visa stamped at the arrival airport in Vietnam. You visa become valid since your date of arrival in Vienam, not the date of your online application.

So, no worries about when you should apply for Vietnam visa online.

We hope this information is clear to you.

  • VIETNAM VISA REQUIREMENT IF STOPOVERS IN BOTH HANOI & HCMC FOR TRANSIT

my partner and i already have our flights booked from Australia to the UK and return. we have 2 stop overs both ways, one in hanoi for 10hr and then hcmc for 7hrs and similar times on return. Do we require a visa for vietnam? I have been told so many different thing like we do need one because we are there for more then 8 hours, could you please clarify and advise which Vietnam visa we should get if we require them. our trip is for 3 and a half weeks if that makes a difference with having to apply twice? HELP

In General questions, Asked by Skye, 10,011 hours ago Comment View all 1 comment

    Dear Skye,

In this case you are required to have Vietnam visa since you have to take a domestic flight from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, therefore you have to leave the International Terminal to get to the Domestic Terminal for the domestic flight, and you have to do the Immigration Procedures.

Regarding type of visa, you are advised to apply for 1-month multiple entry visa for Vietnam for your convenience, since your trip is for nearly 1 month and you have to come back to Vietnam during your trip. With multiple entry visa, you only need to follow the visa procedure at your first arrvail in Vietnam. The second time you do not need to do that. And also, the fee for one 1-month multiple entry visa for Vietnam is less than that of two 1-month single entry visas for Vietnam.

To apply for Vietnam visa online, please visit our https://www.vietnam-visa.com/step1.

We hope this information is clear to you.

    Dear Francisco,

First of all, we are sorry for this inconvenience in using English to reply to you.

Regarding your concern, you means that your flight will land in Hanoi in the later date than the arrival date you applied. If so, then there will be no problem since with Vietnam visa on arrival, you can enter Vietnam LATER than the date of arrival issued in your approval letter.

    So, no worries.
