Hot news about 6-month visa in Vietnam

According to the newly updated information from Vietnam Immigration Department (A18), 6-month visa (single/multiple) has not been issued since August 24, 2009. Vietnam Immigration only issues 3-month visa (single/multiple) as the longest one. Thus, instead of applying for 6-month visa, clients should apply for 3-month visa (as a longest one up to now). You only need to access our website at www.Vietnam-Visa .com and click 3months (single/multiple) visa in the online application form. Any questions about this can be sent to:

    I hve 2 questions:
    1. So as of right now, no one can extend/renew their visa for 6 months?
    2. How about leaving the country when my current visa is expired and coming back with a brand new visa? Can I get a multiple entry 6 months?
    Thank you!

    To Jay,
I would like to answer your questions as follows:
    1. Now, you can only renew or extend for 3 months visa.
    2. If you leave Vietnam and then enter Vietnam again, you can apply for 3 month visa as the maximum duration of a visa to Vietnam is 3 months.

    Regards,
    Julia

So I’m confused, can I get the 3 months visa prior to entering Vietnam and then extending it while I’m there for another 3 months or how does this work?

    Hi,

I have a few questions also:
    - My friend holds Finnish citizenship (which means he can stay in Vietnam for 2 weeks without a visa) and he wants to go to Vietnam to stay, travel and look for a job. The Vietnamese embassy in Finland said that they only give out 1-month visas, so what should he do now? Can he go to Vietnam and then apply for some other papers there?

    - I saw in Vietnam immigration website, a Vietnamese person or organisation can sponsor for a foreigner, so what kind of relation this person needs to have with the foreign so that she can be the sponsor?

Thanks a lot indeed. I really appreciate your help!

You can apply online for visa 3 months if you stay longer than 1 month in Vietnam.

Is a retirement visa available for Vietnam? I am an Australian citizen, and am looking into retiring in a SE Asian country, possibly Vietnam.

    Answer to Ross:

    Thank you for contacting us!

Please be kindly informed that there is no retirement visa in Vietnam. In your case, we recommend you to apply for a 3 month single/multiple entry, then we will assist you to extend it when it expires.

    Kindly regards,

Hello” How often can one renew a 3 monthly Visa? Is there a limit to it? Thank you

  • By Anna Quach, August 10, 2010 @ 10:38 am

    Answer to Rainer:

    Thank you for contacting us!

Please be kindly informed that if you go out of Vietnam once your visa expires, you can re-apply for a new Vietnam visa as many time as you want. Other while, if you do not exit Vietnam, you can renew your visa once only.

Hopefully, this information will help you.

    Kindly regards,

    Anna Quach
