Vietnam Visa Exemption Exchange of Notes between Vietnam and Bulgaria

The Exchange of notes was effective on June 1, 1996. The exemption of visa includes exemption of visa for entry, exit and transit. The duration of stay subject to visa exemption begins from the date of entry. The contents of visa exemption agreed upon between Vietnam and Bulgaria says that the exemption of visa is granted to bearers of diplomatic passports or official passports or ordinary passports for official mission, and bearers of any of the above-mentioned passports when they travel in group tours.

Vietnam Visa Exemption Exchange of Notes between Vietnam and Brunei

The Exchange of notes was effective on November 1, 1997. The exemption of visa includes exemption of visa for entry, exit and transit. The duration of stay subject to visa exemption begins from the date of entry. The contents of visa exemption agreed upon between Vietnam and Brunei are as follows:

  • Exemption of visa is granted to bearers of diplomatic passports or official passports with the stay duration not exceeding 14 days.                                                                                                                                                                (Brunei conveyed a note to Vietnam, effective on August 1, 2007.)
  • Exemption of visa is granted to Vietnamese citizens bearing ordinary passports still valid for up to 6 months, provided that the stay duration does not exceed 14 days.                                                      (Vietnam conveyed a note to Brunei, effective on August 8, 2007.)
  • Exemption of visa is granted to citizens of Brunei bearing ordinary passports still valid for up to 6 months, provided that the stay duration does not exceed 14 days.

Vietnam Visa Exemption Exchange of official letters between Vietnam and Brazil

The Exchange of official letters was carried out on November 16, 2004 and the notes came into effect on February 12, 2005. The exemption of visa includes exemption of visa for entry, exit and transit. The duration of stay subject to visa exemption begins from the date of entry. The contents of visa exemption agreed upon between Vietnam and Brazil are as follows:

  • Exemption of visa is granted to bearers of diplomatic passports with the stay duration not exceeding 90 days. The stay duration may be extended at the request of the concerned diplomatic mission or consular post.
  • Exemption of visa during the whole tenure is granted to members of diplomatic missions or consular posts, representative mission at international organizations and their families’ members bearing diplomatic passports.  They are liable to complete procedures for residence registration at competent authorities of the host countries.

Vietnam Visa Exemption Agreement between Vietnam and Algeria

The Agreement was signed on June 30, 1994 and entered into effect on January 2, 1995. The exemption of visa includes exemption of visa for entry, exit and transit. The duration of stay subject to visa exemption begins from the date of entry. The content of visa exemption agreed upon between Vietnam and Algeria are as follows:

  • Exemption of visa is granted to bearers of diplomatic passports or official passports with the duration of stay not exceeding 90 days; in case the duration of stay exceeds 90 days, they are liable to complete required procedures of visa application for temporary stay or registration of residence in accordance with the regulations of the host country.
  • Fee for issuance of visa for stay or registration of residence is gratis for members of diplomatic missions or  consular posts and their families’ members forming parts of their households. The duration of visa is valid until the last date of their tenure.
  • Visa fee is gratis for bearers of ordinary passports.

Vietnam Visa Exemption Agreement between Vietnam and Albania

The Exchange of notes was carried out on September 29, 1956 and the notes entered into effect on October 1, 1956. The exemption of visa includes exemption of visa for entry, exit and transit. The duration of stay subject to visa exemption begins from the date of entry. The content of visa exemption agreed upon between Vietnam and Argentina is about granting visa exemption to bearers of diplomatic passports or official  passports, or group passports for official mission.

CUSTOMS AND IMMIGRATION

On arrival in Vietnam, you must complete white and blue duplicate arrival-departure forms. The blue copy is to be kept with your passport at all times. Hotels, guest houses and private hosts must register overnight guests with the local police and these blue forms are essential for this purpose.
Incoming visitors must also fill out duplicate yellow and white customs declaration forms. The yellow copy is to remain with your passport until departure. Do not lose it!
On the yellow and white Customs Forms you are expected to declare:
- Cameras, camcorders and other electric equipments not for personal use
- Currency: over US$3,000
- Jewelery: not for personal use
- Video tapes: (they may be kept for a few days and screened)
Duty free allowances are 200 cigarettes, two litres of alcohol,  perfume and jewellery for personal use.
