Get Vietnam visa from Bangkok (Thailand)
For those who reside or stay in Bangkok (Thailand) at the time of waiting for the visa to Vietnam, there are two ways to get Vietnam visa, through Vietnam Embassy in Bangkok (Thailand), or get Visa on Arrival via online service:
Get Vietnam Visa through Vietnam Embassy in Bangkok (Thailand)
- Issuing unit: Vietnamese Embassy in Bangkok Thailand
- Processing time: 5 to 7 working days
- Processing fee: 50 – 85 USD/person
- Additional fee: Postal cost
- With Passport requirement
- How to get it? You reach this Embassy in person and follow the required procedures.
Get Vietnam Visa on Arrival via visa service:
- Issuing unit: Vietnam Immigration Department
- Processing time: 1 to 2 working days
- Processing fee: 25 USD (1 month single), 30 USD (1 month multiple), 35 USD (3 month single)…more (stamping fee NOT included)
- Without Passport requirement
- How to get it? You go online at http://www.vietnam-visa.com, fill in the secure form, and just wait 1-2 days until you receive your Visa Approval Letter, and take this + your passport + 2 photos to Vietnam to get your visa at airport. This seems to be the cheapest and easiest way to get a visa to Vietnam from Bangkok (Thailand).

Do I need to show the financial evidences in applying for a Vietnamese visa from Bangkok?
By admin, January 9, 2009 @ 3:17 pm
Dear Eddy,
No, you do not need to show any documents other than: Your visa application form + your passport + 2 photos, and pay some fee to get your Vietnam visa done.
To save your time, please apply online for a visa code at http://www.vietnam-visa.com (to be completed in 1 or 2 days). You just need to bring this visa code to the Embassy in Bangkok to get your visa
Or, if you travel by air, you’d better apply for visa on arrival (to pick up visa at arrival airport) by filling in the online form at http://www.vietnam-visa.com! This is the best way to get a visa to Vietnam (without showing any evidences, etc.)
Good luck!

Answer to Deloriente,
We offer visa on arrival for those applicants that travel by air to Vietnam. So, if you go by air, the easiest and most simple way is to apply for visa on arrival (visa to be picked up at the arrival airport in Vietnam)!
What you need to do is very simple as follows:
- You apply online at http://www.vietnam-visa.com
- Settle the payment (service fee) as per instructions
- Receive your visa approval letter after 1working day (urgent service), and 2 or 3 working days (normal service) via email
- You print the letter out and bring it together with your photos + passport to the arrival airport in Vietnam and pick up your visa there.
And now, you are ready to enter Vietnam!
Regards!

Hello,
I’m a Polish citizen who stays in Bangkok, Thailand. I met Hungarian boy who told me he bought the visa on Sai Gon airport. He paid $50 for 4 months visa.
Can anyone answer me if he just was lucky or everyone can just buy such a good visa? I don’t know what to do - apply online or take a risk and just fly….
Thanks in advance for your answers

- Stamping fee: For getting your visa stamped at VIETNAM airport, pay directly at the Vietnam airports for the Immigration officers by cash (in USD) at immigration Desk.

Thanks for your answer. Do I need to have a blank page for this type of visa (in VN airport) or it is just a stamp? I’m asking because my passport is full now…
By admin, June 8, 2009 @ 10:52 am
Answer to Sati,
The stamp will be glued on your passport. If your passport now has no space for the new stamp, you should contact/come to your Embassy in Bangkok for asking to renew your passport.

Dear Sir/ Madam,
i’m in Bangkok for 2 days and i would like to go to vietnam from Laos by overnight train. Can I get the visa at the Vitnemese border?
Thanks,
S.
By nacador, July 30, 2009 @ 12:03 am
For the visa on arrival:
Does the stamping fee has to be paid in USD cash? Or can it be paid in other currencies or by credit card?
Thanks
nacador
By admin, August 5, 2009 @ 10:30 am
Answer to Nacador:
We would like to inform that you have to pay the stamping fee to Vietnam Immigration Officials at the airport by USD cash. Up to now, Vietnam Immigration Dept does not accept the credit card for stamping fee.
Have a good time in Vietnam.
Regards!

I’m an american who will be in bangkok for 4 days and would like to travel to vietnam by flight for 5 day stay. Is visa on arrival best and most affordable option for me or should I pay the extra money and get in united states. Is visa on arrival process usually quick and hassle free?

Dear Sir or Mam,
I am a German citizen and will fly to Bangkok on Thursday already. One or two days later I will fly to Hanoi, Vietnam. As there is no time left to apply for a visa at the embassy here in Germany, the online visa is very convenient for me. If I understand the comments on this forum correctly, I only need to bring the confirmation letter printed out + photos + USD to the immigration officer at hanoi airport to get my visa upon arrival??? so I don´t have to go to vietnam embassy at bangkok right?
thanks a lot and kind regards
By admin, November 6, 2009 @ 11:37 am
To Fred,
Please be kindly informed you that if you apply for visa on arrival, you just need to show your visa approval letter, your passport, two photos, stamping fee (USD), exit and entry form (you need to fill in),so your visa will be stamped at the airport when you get to Vietnam. You do not need to Vietnam Embassy at Bangkok.
Kindly regards,
Julia

Hi, I’ve just applied for a code to get a visa at the Vietnam Embassy in Bangkok (where I am staying at the moment). You say I need to take passport size photos, I have some brought from england but the dimensions asked for here are 4X6cm which are a bit larger. will there be a problem? or should I get some exactly this size…don’t want to get to the embassy just to be told to go and get new photos!

Hello,
I am planning on arriving in Vietnam by land. I will be in Bangkok for a few days before travelling to Vietnam. Can I get an approval letter to bring to the Vietnam embassy in Bangkok, and if so, how long will it take for the Vietnam embassy to process my visa.
Thank you.
RR
By admin, January 16, 2010 @ 11:44 am
To RR,
In your case, you can apply for visa code at our website http://www.vietnam-visa.com to get your visa approval code. After you get your visa code approval code from us, you need to wait 1 day and then go to Vietnam Embassy (with visa approval letter, passport, 2 photos, stamping fee- 50 USD upwards) to get your visa stamped (in some minutes).
