I am permanent resident of USA, married to a USA citizen with Nepalese passport.Embassy in DC rejected by visa application and said I need to do it through Travel Agent or relative, sponsorship and Immigration dep. in Vietnam needs to send them an approval letter before they give visa stamp on my passport.

I wonder what is the solution for this as I am traveling with my husband to Thailand, Cambodia and plan to enter Vietnam by bus from Phon Phem. What should I do? Is it easier to get visa for Vietnam once I get to Thailand or Cambodia?

Thanks for your help.

Dear Ikhagvasuren,

Normally there are two ways to get a Vietnam Visa: ONE, reaching the Vietnam Embassy in your country (Mongolia) (taking 4-10 days), and TWO, getting an agent do it for you (taking 1-2 working days) (mostly for visa on arrival, getting online).

But as you are in China, not in your original country, we suggest you get Visa on Arrival through online service, which is always the easiest and simpliest way. (Pls Note: this is only used for traveling by air).
What you need to do:
- Apply online at https://secure.vietnam-visa.com/apply.html and submit online(which takes only some minutes)
- Pay the fee (around US$25) through Paypal, or Xoom, or Western Union (up to you)
- Get your visa approval letter after 1 or 2 working days
Now, you're ready to go to Vietnam. Remember to bring the approval letter with 2 photos + your passport to the arrival airport in Vietnam to get your visa stamped on it (pay some stamping fee)

Should you need further support, please feel free to contact www.vietnam-visa.com for free support. Good luck!
