Can I get Vietnam visa at Vietnam Embassy in Dubai?

The post guide you how to get Vietnam Visa even if there is no Vietnam Embassy in Dubai, UAE.

Answer

Dear Charlie,

You cannot get Vietnam visa in Dubai because there is no Vietnam Embassy or Vietnam consulate in Dubai. However, you can still get Vietnam visa in the UAE through two following ways:

We recommend this way to you if you are not travelling to Vietnam by air or you are living near the office of Vietnam Embassy or consulate. Here is some information needed if you want to obtain a Vietnam Visa in person at the Embassy.

– Address: Villa 0101, 27th str., sector 24, Al Mushrif area, Abu Dhabi, the UAE

– Phone: + 971.2.449 6710

– Fax: + 971.2.449 673

– Email: vnconsul@emirates.net.ae

– Working hour: Embassy: Sunday – Thursday (8 a.m. – 2 p.m) |  Consulate: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

If you this way to apply for your Vietnam visa, things needed to prepare include:

  • Required documents: Passport, Entry Permit Form
  • Processing Vietnam Visa Fee: including transportation, stamping fees, delivery fees, …
  • 2 passport-sized photos
  • Additional fees: Postal cost, driving, parking fees

After you finish the procedure, you will get your visa within 3 to 5 working days.

By applying for visa at Vietnam Embassy, you will get your visa stamped before you go to the airport, but you have to visit the Embassy to submit our documents and may have to deal with some lost issues.

  • Apply for Vietnam Visa Online (VOA Vietnam – Vietnam Visa On Arrival)

This option is convenient for those who live far from Vietnam Embassy or those who travel by air to any of 5 international airports in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa and Ho Chi Minh City. The online application method is highly-recommended because of the following reasons:

  • Short processing time: The whole process takes place online and it only takes you 1 to 2 working days, which can help you save your precious time.
  • No documents required. All you need is a computer/ laptop and internet connection, so that you don’t need to send your original passport way, which can avoid missing problems.
  • You don’t have to deal with immigration authorities. After you apply for the visa online, all you need to do is to wait and then bring your approval letter to the airport.

How to apply online

First, you need to visit the website of an authorized travel agency, and fill in the Vietnam visa application form. Then, within 2 days (in normal case) or 1 day (in urgent cases) since your fee payment, you will receive your visa approval letter sent via email. On the day you travel, bring this approval letter, together with visa application form, your original passport, 02 passport sized photos and stamping fee, you will get your Vietnam visa stamped at the arrival airport in Vietnam.

VOA fees include: Service fee and stamping fee.

+ Service fee: this is the fee to pay for the travel agent you choose. This fee may be different depending on types of visa you apply for, number of person in your groups, and processing time you choose, etc.

+ Stamping fee: This is the fee to pay to the Immigration Counter at Vietnam airport to have your visa stamped. For detailed fee for Vietnam visa in UAE, please refer: https://www.vietnam-visa.com/guide/united-arab-emirates/

However, the VOA may cause some inconveniences: you may have to line up in front of the Immigration Counter at arrival airports to have your visa stamped or have a wrong name on the approval letter.

Before you choose any of the two methods, there are two things you need to know:

  • Your passport need to have at least 6-month validity and blank pages left.
  • Vietnam visa on arrival is applied to those traveling to Vietnam by air ONLY.
