Single or multiple entry visa to Vietnam

Hello,

I would like to arrive by flight to Hanoi to take a train to go in China (so I will stay just a few hours in Hanoi) but after I would like to come back by train and then take the time to visit Vietnam, is it necessary to take a multiple entry visa? I read somewhere that the visa is just when you arrive by flight.

Thank you for you answer!

Cheers,

Laura

Answer

Dear Laura Cueff,

Since the first time you have to leave the airport to take a train to China and then the second time you will spend time to visit Vietnam, you should apply for a multiple entry visa to Vietnam. With multiple entry visa, you only need to follow the visa procedure upon your first arrival in Vietnam and you don’t need to follow the visa procedure at your second arrival in Vietnam as your have visa already on your passport from the first arrival.

As you will first travel to Vietnam by air, you can apply for a visa on arrival by clicking here: https://booking.vietnam-visa.com/step1.html. With this kind of visa, you only need to complete the visa procedure at the airport upon your first arrival in Vietnam and then you can come back Vietnam by any means of transport.

I hope this information is clear to you.
