If you are Myanmar citizen or resident and want to apply for a visa to Vietnam, you can do it by either of the following ways:

  • Directly contact the Vietnam Embassy to apply for a visa; OR
  • Apply for a visa on arrival if traveling to Vietnam by air.

How to obtain Vietnam visa for Myanmar citizens?

At the moment, all citizens of Myanmar do not need to obtain Vietnam visa for any of their stays in Vietnam for no more than 14 days. They only need to obtain one in case they wish to stay in Vietnam for more than 14 days consecutively. And in this case, they may have two options to go as follows:
  • Obtain a visa on arrival (highly recommended if you are traveling to Vietnam by air for convenience, fast processing and simplicity in application);
  • Obtain a visa at Vietnam embassy/consulate if you are not traveling to Vietnam by air.

I’m not Myanmar citizen but am residing in this country. Do I need to get a valid visa for my travel to Vietnam?

I’m Myanmar passport holder. Am I exempted from Vietnam visa if I’m traveling from a third party country?

Yes. Please be kindly informed that Vietnam visa exemption only relates to your nationality, not your place of departure. So, you always get Vietnam visa exemption if you just stay in Vietnam for 14 days (applied for ordinary passport holders) at maximum, regardless where you depart for Vietnam.

Is there any condition for Vietnam visa exemption for Myanmar citizens?

At the moment, all Myanmar citizens are exempted from Vietnam visa for their stays in the country of up to 14 days each. To ensure your smooth entry into Vietnam, please make sure:
  • Your passport is valid for at least 6 months following your planned departure from Vietnam;
  • Your passport has at least 2 free pages for immigration stamps upon arrival in and exit of Vietnam.
