Vietnam visa exemption for Myanmar passport holders

Last update: Apr 20, 2021

As said before, the governments of Vietnam and Myanmar signed an agreement to waive visa for their citizens visiting the other country within 14 days. The agreement will take effect from October 26, 2013. It means that there are only 3 days left and then the Myanmar passport holders will not need a visa for their stay in Vietnam within 14 days.

But if Myanmar passport holders wish to visit and stay in Vietnam for more than 14 days, they are advised to apply for a Vietnam visa. In case they travel to Vietnam by air, visa on arrival (visa picked up at the airport) is available for convenience. But in case they travel to Vietnam by other means of transport (not by air), they should contact the most convenient Vietnam Embassy for visa application.
