Chinese citizens planning a package tour to Khanh Hoa may qualify for a new visa exemption, provided their passport, tour and flight arrangements meet the pilot scheme’s conditions. Vietnam issued Resolution No. 325/NQ-CP on 12 October 2026, introducing the scheme for eligible groups during the Vietnam–China Tourism Cooperation Year 2026–2027.
The policy runs from 12 October 2026 through 31 December 2027, according to Vietnam Government News. It applies specifically to qualifying group tours in Khanh Hoa, rather than all Chinese travelers entering Vietnam.

Who qualifies for the visa exemption
The pilot covers Chinese citizens holding valid ordinary passports who join a qualifying package tour of at least two people. The tour must be organized by a Vietnamese international travel company and meet all the destination, route and duration conditions.
Traveling with a friend or family member does not, by itself, qualify you for the exemption. A privately arranged trip for two or more people still needs to meet the organized package-tour requirement.
Hong Kong and Macao SAR passport holders are outside this scheme. Their entry requirements must be checked separately for the passport they hold.
Where you can travel under the pilot
The permitted tourism area is Khanh Hoa Province. The exemption does not cover an itinerary that continues to destinations outside the province, such as Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City.
If you want to combine Khanh Hoa with other parts of Vietnam, check the appropriate visa or other applicable entry arrangements before booking. Do not assume this exemption covers the whole trip.
Which flight route is required
You must fly directly from mainland China to Cam Ranh International Airport and enter and leave Vietnam through Cam Ranh. Both the direct inbound route and the same-border-gate requirement are conditions of this pilot.
Ask your tour organizer to check the full route, including your departure arrangements.
How long the tour can last
The package tour must last no more than 30 days. This limit does not give you permission to add an independent stay.
The announced pilot period ends on 31 December 2027. If your trip would cross that date, ask your organizer to confirm how the deadline applies before you book.
What to confirm before you travel
Ask your Vietnamese tour organizer to confirm that your group can use the pilot and explain the required entry arrangements. The resolution assigns the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop implementation guidance, including the selection and management of participating travel companies. The Ministry of Public Security is responsible for guidance on entry, exit and residence procedures.
The announcement does not provide a complete application checklist. Before departure, confirm your operator’s participation, required documents and arrangements for your travel dates.
If your plans fall outside the scheme, check your visa requirements separately. You can also contact our team with your passport type, travel dates and itinerary for advice on suitable visa options.

Plan your arrival in Nha Trang
Vietnam-visa.com offers Immigration Fast Track at Cam Ranh Airport. This is an optional travel service; your tour organizer should confirm how they fit your group’s arrangements.
Cam Ranh Immigration Fast Track
With Immigration Fast Track, our airport representative meets you at the agreed location and escorts you to the priority lane at passport control. It can be useful if you are traveling with children or older relatives, or prefer guidance through the airport after your flight.
Visa-exempt travelers still complete passport control. Fast Track supports that step; it does not change your eligibility for the exemption or replace the tour’s entry arrangements. Ask us to confirm availability for your group and flight.
