Vietnam VISA Guide

If you are UK citizen or resident and want to apply for a visa to Vietnam, you can do it by either of the following ways:

  • Directly contact the Vietnam Embassy to apply for a visa; OR
  • Apply for a visa on arrival if traveling to Vietnam by air.
Each option has its own advantages and disadvantages:

Do I need to contact the Vietnam embassy in London, UK in case I get a visa approval letter from an online travel agent?

No. The visa approval letter is the document to get Vietnam visa on arrival. It has nothing to work with the Vietnam embassy. When you get the letter, you only need to print it out and prepare other items as guided to pick up full visa upon your arrival at Vietnam international airport.

Can I apply for Vietnam visa via Vietnam embassy in London even I’m not citizen of UK?

Do UK citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

It depends. At the moment, all UK citizens do not need a Visa for Vietnam if all of the 3 following conditions are met:
  • Their stay in Vietnam is no more than 15 days;
  • Their passport is valid for at least 6 months following their intended date of departure from Vietnam; and
  • Their arrival date does not fall within 30 days from exit date of their last stay in Vietnam with visa exemption.
Otherwise, a visa is required for UK citizens to enter Vietnam.
