A: Please be kindly informed that you are exempted from Vietnam visa for your both visits.

A: No. Currently, a visa on arrival is not available for tourist purposes. Please apply for a 30-day e-visa if your stay in Vietnam is longer than 15 days.

Q: I have regular business trips to Vietnam, normally 3 to 7 in a year. Is there a 1-year Vietnam business visa option for UK passport holders?

A: No. Vietnam business visa is currently available in 3-month multiple entry form only.

Q: After receiving the visa approval letter from you, do I need to inform the Vietnam embassy?

A: Yes, if you have a sponsor company in Vietnam (the company you will work for after entering Vietnam), as this type of visa is now available for business purpose only.

Q. I have a stopover in Vietnam. Do I need a Vietnam visa for my transit/flight connection there?

A. In most cases, you do not need a visa for transit in Vietnam if you do not cross the immigration/passport control counter to catch the connecting flight. To make sure, we highly recommend you check with your airlines for specific requirements at your transit airports.

If you cannot confirm, please consider applying for a visa to avoid any problems during your transit.

Please be informed that whether you need a visa for Vietnam or not does not depend on your residing country, but on your nationality.

For example,

  • if you are a UK citizen, you are EXEMPTED from Vietnam visa for 15 days in Vietnam.
  • if you are an Indian residing in the UK, you are REQUIRED to have a valid visa for every trip to Vietnam.
