Do Belarusian Citizens Need a Visa to Vietnam?

According to the new law on entry, exit, transit and residence of foreigners in Vietnam, the Belarus citizens DO NOT need a visa to visit Vietnam for up to 15 days each stay.

However, due to COVID 19, Vietnam’s borders remain shut to all foreign tourists, including Belarus passport holders. We will keep you updated on any news.

Additionally, whether visiting Vietnam with or without visa, the Belarus citizens also need to ensure that:

  • their Belarus passport is valid for at least 06 months beyond their arrival date;
  • their Belarus passport has 02 blank pages for immigration stamps.

How to Apply for Vietnam visa for Belarusian Citizens

Belarus citizens NEED a visa for entering Vietnam if they wish to stay in Vietnam for more than 15 days or they come back to Vietnam within 30 days following exit date of their last staying in the country.

There are 02 ways to obtain tourist and business visas for Belarus citizens and passport holders as follow.

1. Get embassy visa

The issuing authority of embassy visa to Vietnam is the Vietnam embassy/consulate abroad.

2. Get visa on arrival

Visa on arrival (VOA) is the best way to get a visa for Belarus citizens traveling to Vietnam by air. It is issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department, but the Belarus citizens are not required to work with them, but through a local travel agent like

To get it, the Belarus citizens only need to:

Filling out the secure online application form;
Receiving the visa approval letter by email.
Normally in 2 working days (for tourist visa) or 7 working days (for business visa), attached with Vietnamese application form (also as Entry and Exit Form).
Getting visa stamped upon arrival at Vietnam airport.

How much is Vietnam visa on arrival for Belarusian citizens?

To get a visa on arrival for Vietnam, the Belarus passport holders need to pay:

  • Visa stamping fee fixed at US$25 for a single entry visa, or US$50 for a multiple entry visa valid for up to 3 months; and
  • Visa approval letter fee (also known as visa fee) which is from US$17.25.

Frequently Asked Questions

There are 2 cases in which Belarus citizens have to apply for a Vietnam visa:
– Stay longer than 15 days
The policy of free visa just allows you to enter Vietnam within a short duration of time. If you want to stay in Vietnam for 1month or 3 months, etc…, you are required to (also should ) apply a visa. The fee to apply a 3-month visa is much cheaper than the fee to get free 15-day exemption + fee to extend extra 3 months. Thus, you should consider about how long you really want to stay in Vietnam apply for a visa beforehand.
– Enter multiple times
With visa free policy, you are permitted to enter Vietnam with single entry only. An interval of at least 30 days between two visa-free visits is required. So if you enter Vietnam using visa exemption in the first time, then you come to another country before re-entering Vietnam, you need an interval of at least 30days. If not, you must apply for a visa.
