Q: I’m Spanish citizens and I read that I’m exempted from Vietnam visa for up to 15 days. How can I get this benefit? In other words, what are conditions to enter Vietnam under visa exemption?
A: You are right that Spanish citizens do not need a visa to visit and stay in Vietnam for no more than 15 days. However, you need to make sure the following entry requirements: 1. Your passport is valid for at least 6 months following your date of entry; 2. You have never been in Vietnam or never been in Vietnam with visa exemption; otherwise your arrival date should be at least 30 days from exit date of your last stay in Vietnam with visa exemption.
The exemption duration includes both arrival and exit dates. It means that 15 days of visa exemption is counted from the date you arrive in Vietnam until the date you leave the country.
For example, your arrival date is March 12, your exit date should be March 26 if you do not want to pay for any fine or get visa exemption extended while you are in Vietnam.
Q: I am flying to Vietnam from London although I am from Spain. Can I use Vietnam visa on arrival?
A: Yes. You can get a visa on arrival for Vietnam no matter where you are, or where you are departing for Vietnam, provided that you are traveling to Vietnam by air.
Q: I´m from Spain. I´m going to visit Vietnam in March for 10 days. During the trip I want to travel to Cambodia and then come back to Vietnam again 10 days later. What kind of visa will I need, nothing or 1 month simple entry or 1 month multiple entry?
A: Spanish citizens are exempted from Vietnam visa for 15 days stay, therefore you do not need a visa for your first entry. However, as you return Vietnam within 30 days from your first visit, you will need visa for your second entry from Cambodia. In this case, a 1 month single entry is fine.
