If you just stay inside the transit area at the airport, you are not required for a Vietnam visa. Otherwise, you are required a Vietnam visa. Anf if so, you have two options to apply for visa to Vietnam which are to apply for a transit visa at the nearest Vietnam Embassy OR apply for Vietnam visa on arrival.

Hello Im flying with air asia to HCMC, 4 hours later I take Emirates to dubai. Air Asia wont check the baggage in until dubai, only until HCMC. Im German so I dont need transit visa. But how can I pick up my luggage from air asia and check it in to emirates without leaving the transitarea? I dont want to buy a vietnam visa. Thanks!

Hi, I am planning a flight from Australia to Japan that will involve a 5 hour stopover at HCMC. Having been to HCMC before I am keen to leave the airport and have a few hours in the city, but would this be possible? I don't want to pay for a 1 month visa for Vietnam to do this - is there any kind of temporary 1 day visa available for these situations? Then, you can apply for 2 transit visas for both times you enter Vietnam at the Vietnam Embassy since the transit visa is valid in 5 days only, OR you can apply for a 3-month multiple entry Vietnam visa on arrival, allowing you to enter Vietnam as many times as you want during visa validity. With Vietnam visa on arrival, you will get Vietnam visa stamped on your passport when you first arrive in Vietnam.

We have a 6 hour stopover on the way to paris and an 8 hour stopover on the return journey, do we need a Vietnam visa to leave the airport? and how can I find out what facilities exist at the airport, such as a hotel if we decided to stay within the airport.

Hello, I have a client who is flying with VN from Australia to London return. The flight travels from Melbourne, via Saigon to Hanoi and on to London. The same applies for the return flight. The passenger will not be leaving the airports at all. Will they be required to apply for a tourist/transit visa to Vietnam? Thank You.

Since your client have a domestic flight from Saigon to Hanoi and vice versa, so she/he is required to have a Vietnam visa. She/he can apply for transit visa at the Vietnam Embassy. But the transit visa is valid in 5 days only, so she/he must apply twice.
An other option is that she/he can apply for Vietnam visa on arrival with Vietnam-visa.com to get Vietnam visa stamped on her/his passport at the first arrival airport in Vietnam. And please remind her/him that she/he can apply for 1 month / 3 month multiple entry visa to Vietnam if both times she/he enters Vietnam are within 1 month or 3 months respectively.
