Vietnam VISA Guide

If you are Central African citizen or resident and want to apply for a visa to Vietnam, you can do it by either of the following ways:

  • Directly contact the Vietnam Embassy to apply for a visa; OR
  • Apply for a visa on arrival if traveling to Vietnam by air.
Each option has its own advantages and disadvantages:

I’m from Central Africa. What if I overstay my visa in Vietnam?

Vietnam visas and immigration issues fall within the purview of the Vietnamese authorities. Financial penalties for overstaying the validity of your visa are determined on a case-by-case basis. But we do not recommend you overstay  your visa. In case your visa is about to expire and you wish to extend your stay, please contact the Vietnam Immigration Department or a travel agency to have your visa extended.

There is no Vietnam embassy in Central Africa. Who should I contact to obtain my Vietnam visa?

Please be kindly informed that, at the moment, Vietnam embassy is not the only address where you can apply for a Vietnam visa. When can Central African use Vietnam visa on arrival?

Vietnam visa on arrival is only applicable in case you are traveling to Vietnam by air via any of the 5 international airports in Vietnam, consisting of: Noi Bai (Hanoi), Cat Bai (Hai Phong), Da Nang (Da Nang), Cam Ranh (Khanh Hoa) and Tan Son Nhat (Ho Chi Minh City).

How to apply for Vietnam visa on arrival for Central Africans?

To obtain Vietnam visa on arrival, as an Central African, you need to obtain a visa approval letter before departure. To get it, please kindly send scan of your passport to our email Sales@Vietnam-visa.com. Our staff will assist you further to process your visa approval letter with the Vietnam Immigration Department. After processing, the visa approval letter will be sent to your email. Then, you only need to print it out, bring it with you to the airport together with other documents and get visa stamped upon arrival at Vietnam airport.

I’m Central African. How can I get my Vietnam visa?

At the moment, there are up to 2 ways to obtain a Vietnam visa for Central African, namely:
  1. Getting a visa on arrival (highly recommended if you are traveling to Vietnam by air, as it is convenient and simple to apply; OR
  2. Getting visa at Vietnam embassy in Egypt or in any country which is convenient for you if you are not traveling to Vietnam by air.

I’m Central African. Do I need to obtain Vietnam visa for my trip to Vietnam?

Please be kindly informed that, at the moment, all Central Africans need to obtain a valid visa for every of their trips to Vietnam, regardless of length of their stay in the country and purpose of travel. It means that, as a Central African citizen, you need to get a Vietnam visa to visit Vietnam.
